At 11 a.m. in the English village of Midwich, everyone simultaneously becomes unconscious. In a few hours the residents awaken, seemingly unhurt--but within a few days the townspeople realize that every woman of childbearing age is pregnant in The Village of the Damned. The children are all born at exactly the same time and share the same blank stare. As the children develop much more rapidly than human children, their supernatural powers and evil nature gradually become apparent in this classic science horror film. Now one father, local scientist Gordon Zellaby (Academy Award winner George Sanders), realizes he must end the life of his son and all the children. But how do you kill your child? And how do you kill a boy who can read your mind?

Critics Consensus: Chilling performances and a restrained, eerie atmosphere make this British horror both an unnerving parable of its era and a timeless classic.
