The biggest problem is that Smokin' Aces 2 is so infatuated with its predecessor that it never makes much effort to become its own thing.

If you've seen the first movie and want another fix of much of the same sort of mayhem, then Smokin' Aces 2: Assassins' Ball is probably one you should be adding to your list of movies to buy or rent in 2010.

The film isn't all bad considering anyone watching it knows exactly what they are in for, but it's definitely nothing more than direct-to-DVD fodder.

It's actually quite good.
