That the poor are simply portrayed as being feasted upon by the rich, indicates a disorientation and tells us something about the ideological difficulties of our own time.

It's just not a very good movie.

Every generation gets the Ripper who best fulfills its fantasies, and ours fatten on vast conspiracies.
