Critics Consensus: It's technically impressive and loaded with eye-catching images, but without characters or a plot to support them, all of Sucker Punch's visual thrills are for naught.

This was god awful. There was a lack of depth in the female characters so it's just eye candy with some dope action scenes. But without any substance, the gimmicks get old very fast.

Despite some incredible visuals and eye candy, this movie executed so poorly and backwards that it's offensive. The actresses were clearly sold a different movie than what was ultimately put on the screen. Emily Browning was greatly miscast.

Snyder packs on the thematic symbolism with as much subtlety as his three-story-high samurai toting a Minigun can provide.

Sucker Punch packs a pretty strong wallop. I enjoyed a lot of it, but I wish someone had warned me that a lobotomy was going to be a major plot point.

Here, Zack Snyder seems to have let adolescent fantasies and video game spectacle conquer the plot.
