[Filmmaker Damián] Szifrón is all about emotion over reason. He just doesn’t find much to celebrate about passions unleashed. He does, however, find a mordant humor in it all, and he has the wit to pull it off.

Not every story will resonate, and the overall theme doesn't leave one with a sense of their combined profundity, but three or four stories are bound to feel familiar and thus deliciously watchable.
