This is a huge step back for James Gunn's DCU. As charming as the lead was, this movie was such a bore and cliche.

I loved Milly Alcock. I loved the Krypton scenes. But the story felt like it didn’t know what to do with female characters. Lobo didn’t fit the story, at all. The CGI was horrendous. This Supergirl film, and Alcock, deserve so much better than they got.

[Alcock] brings true pain and pathos to her performance, yet also effortlessly taps into Kara’s inherent goodness and grace with affecting subtlety.

SUPERGIRL is rough. A first draft script, half-baked visuals and thin characters can’t hold up this film’s narrative Milly Alcock is strong but isn’t working with much. She’d be great with better material. Krypton sequence was a highlight.
