Strung | Movies Anywhere

This ensemble is clearly giving it their all here and getting little in return, and they deserve a better movie than Strung manages to be.

Busted string. It sounds like this: sproinngggg.

Though the story itself is comically predictable, Chloe Bailey’s earnest portrayal and the lure of the iconic Lynn Whitfield make the movie fun to watch even as the narrative completely unravels at the seams.

If one was trying to replicate the elements for The Housemaid but tailor it for Black audiences, it seems like all the right choices have been made for everyone behind the camera.

Strung never hits the right chord and Malcolm D Lee doesn’t direct psychological thrillers, especially ones produced by Tyler Perry and Jason Blum.
