The sporadic action sequences are solid but unremarkable, and they aren't quite enough to make up for the stretches of dull exposition in between.

It is a new year, which means a new Jason Statham movie, so while there are no surprises, there is entertainment to be had, even if it is just a little.

The cargo ship setting is what helps Mutiny stand apart from the crowded field of Statham action movies. Fans shouldn't be disappointed by the close-quarters mayhem, even if the revenge angle becomes harder to swallow.

Mutiny is an awful lot like an extended level of a Hitman video game, played by a kid who has no interest in stealth.
