Peter Fonda, Warren Oates and Loretta Swit star in this high-octane action-thriller. When two couples head off on a Colorado vacation, they hope to ski, dirt bike and camp. But en route, they witness a satanic ritual with a human sacrifice. After a local sheriff refuses to help them, the four are then repeatedly attacked by vicious cult members, and their dream vacation becomes a nightmare!

All the wives are good for is crying and screaming and the husbands spend half their time comforting their wives, whose only brave deed is to go to a library and steal a book about witches.

Race With The Devil has problems getting over the flat, TV-style direction by Cleopatra Jones director Jack Starrett, but it gets by on engaging drive-in goofiness, even if it's tough to swallow the idea that mid-'70s Texas swarmed with Satanists.

While Race with the Devil is a bit slower, it's a haunting, unforgettable experience.

[One] exceptionally well-done sequence bears a remarkable resemblance to the climactic chase scene in The Road Warrior.
