The Possession | Full Movie | Movies Anywhere

Derivative, predictable and unforgivably mediocre.

Familiar tropes require something original in execution for interest arousal, and The Possession simply does not deliver the goods.

The Possession is unlikely to unseat The Exorcist in the pantheon of this horror subject, but it nonetheless works.

It's a shame that the film couldn't have been possessed by the spirit of Sam Raimi. Or even Ted Raimi, for that matter.

By objectifying Jews as exotic others rather than presenting them as subjects, the Raimi production eliminates the precise element that would have been most powerful for a Jewish audience.
