While it is far from complex, well-cast roles and a knack for getting the small things right make it an enjoyable ride.

Angelina Jolie is easily its strongest asset, playing the lead role of a traumatised smokejumper with a compassionate but bitter disposition, and theres some decent supporting work from the likes of Aiden Gillen and Jon Bernthal.

What really matters here is the style, the thrills, the suspense, and Sheridan keeps the pace swift and the dramatic stakes high.

In some ways, this might be Sheridan's weakest feature effort to date but it's also his most audience-friendly. 'Weakest' here is highly subjective. What might be 'weak' for Sheridan would equate to flat-out unattainable for 98% of all other filmmakers.

Those Who Wish Me Dead could have benefitted from a little more tension and plausibility.
