Off the Grid is a movie that could've worked better if it leaned into the drama and sold itself as such.

In the idiotic action flick Off the Grid, a scientist goes into hiding from a technology company that wants his cold-fusion invention as a weapon of mass destruction. This entire schlockfest is a mass-destruction weapon against viewers' intelligence.

Josh Duhamel deserves better than this.

If, as they say, a movie is only as good as its villains, then this good-looking but generic actioner isn't very good; it opts for reliable storytelling over trying anything fresh.

Dully dragging out its thin chase plot to excruciating length...the grubby little movie is as hilariously simple-minded as it is cheesy.
