THE VANISHING is an effective thriller, featuring well-pitched performances from the leads, an appropriately lean script, and probably the first ever instance of Chekhov's Crab Rope.

Confident direction, a strong cast and an intense setting turn this into an extremely watchable thriller.

The Vanishing leaves several loose ends that end up making the story not completely rounded. [Full Review in Spanish]

The story unfolds methodically, but it starts off quite heavy due to all the lengthy discussions about the mechanics of the lighthouse, and never recovers.

A nice little thriller to warm you up on the weekend.
