This story of four women who work at a huge department store in Australia entertains due to Bruce Beresford's direction, the talent of Julia Ormond and the beauty of Rachel Taylor (looking like a young Grace Kelly).

It's a film whose cast is utterly sweet and lovely to look at even if the movie feels incredibly thin.

Despite its drawbacks, Ladies in Black is a fun, charismatic tale executed by a talented ensemble clearly delighting in their roles.
