Zombieland has all the attributes of a pure blockbuster: a phenomenal cast, a straightforward narrative packed with thrilling sequences, a short runtime with fast pacing, compelling characters, and thousands of zombies.

The zombie comedy was hardly fresh territory when "Zombieland" came along (and really, will anyone top "Shaun of the Dead"?) but it nonetheless does a fine job of mining the humor inherent in the end of the world.

For all its silliness, this is not, pardon the pun, brainless; rather, it’s a ruthlessly funny explosion of zombie-film cliches that somehow doubles as a charming road movie.

If, like I once did, you thought Shaun of the Dead was the last word in zombie-comedy, you were dead wrong.

...the whole film is something of a carefree blast...
