The writing is passable, loaded with clichés and silliness. But, silliness is kind of the key to a film like this. Creative, bloody, and fun, it’s not for the faint of heart.

Directors Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky, following a sometimes-clever script by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor, stage some elaborate scenes where all the ways someone can die are put into motion, and it’s a waiting game to see which one will do the job.

Fan service but it's actually good. Other than a dip in the third act before the classic Final Destination Big Finale, Bloodlines is an excellent addition to the franchise and a perfect way to revitalize the series.

A bloody, funny, goofy, surprisingly good time.

This reboot of the horror series that originally started in 2000 seems to lack an understanding of what made those movies work (if "work" they did). It's bigger, longer, and focuses on more lovable characters, but it adds up to little.
