Even after the pall of historical tragedy thickens, “Touch” is still perfumed with much to admire for a love story, especially where Kormákur’s compassionate way with actors is concerned.

The word “lovely” feels old-fashioned, but it’s appropriate here. This is a lovely film.

Touch has beautifully moving performances in this memorable drama about a man searching for a long-lost love, 51 years after he last saw her. It's a bittersweet romantic story that also has poignant observations of the traumatic damages caused by war.

Its sensibility is as exquisitely tender as the flutter of a butterfly wing.
