A remote Arctic Army outpost faces low morale among its troops, prompting military psychologist Lt. Vicki Loren to devise a dream furlough for one soldier. When crafty Corporal Paul Hodges rigs the raffle, he's sent to Paris on furlough under Loren's supervision, complicating the plan as unexpected feelings develop between him and the officer assigned to keep him in line.

A highly amusing spicy romantic comedy.

The pace is fast; all the wacky proceedings have a winning air of gaiety; and Tony has himself a ball.

There is nothing about The Perfect Furlough to warrant superlatives, but there's plenty to keep you giggling.

A very small film, in other words, but it leaves one with one's confidence in Blake Edwards intact.

Mildly naughty in spots if it's judged by ultra-prim standards, this is a fast and breezy comedy of the sort Hollywood used to produce with gratifying regularity in the 1930s.
