I don't know why this movie exists. It breathes no new new life into the mobster movie genre at all and will only serve to remind you of better movies.

Broadly speaking, I like this as a piece of classical gangster theater.

Perhaps too many stories have already been told about this era of organized crime that the need to find new material has resulted in something watered-down, talky, and only fitfully compelling.

[The Alto Knights] ends up going through its historical events in a rather confusing way, without any real perspective or desire to tell anything interesting about the state or those involved in these worlds. [Full review in Spanish]
