An American fuel salesman in 1941 China supplies his wares to the highest bidder-Japan. But on a trip to Shanghai, he meets an American schoolteacher and her Chinese students who tell him of the cruelty at the hands of their Japanese enemy. His conscience awakened, he joins Chinese guerrillas on a daring mission, risking everything in a fight for justice.
