Barbara Stanwyck stars as a late-1800s woman who defiantly dominates an avocation generally limited to men--the legendary female sharpshooter Annie Oakley. The irrepressible backwoods girl's talent with a gun earns her top billing in the famously flamboyant Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, and a rivalry with fellow sharpshooter Toby Walker (Preston Foster) that develops into love in this classic Western romance.
