I may already have a number one film that is a romantic comedy with zombies (Shaun of the Dead), but Warm Bodies is a lot of fun and charming in an “eat my brains” sort of way.

Director Jonathan Levine... has fun contrasting the blank surface with a self-aware narration from R, the nimble, still human mind behind the shuffling body and irresistible instincts to devour living flesh.

There’s nothing sexy about flesh-eating zombies whose very being is tantamount to an unstoppable disease. They lurch and eat brains; they probably don’t smell the best; their bodies are walking rot.

It’s still clever enough, creative enough, and funny enough to make it worth a watch.
