The battle began in a galaxy far away . . . but it's about to end in the Brown's backyard. It's man against a hoard of small, furry, voracious aliens--the Critters! When a band of hardened extraterrestrial criminals escape from a maximum-security prison asteroid and commanders an escape craft, the flesh-eating ETs unwittingly head to a small, unsuspecting planet--Earth--pursued by a pair of awesomely powerful, if unbelievably inept, bounty hunters. Now, it's the humans against the very hungry, man-eating aliens in a battle for the future of mankind!

Common Sense Says
Low-budget '80s horror-comedy has violence, cursing.
What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that the 1986 Critters is a low-budget knock-off of producer Steven Spielberg's 1984 hit horror comedy, Gremlins. Be aware that the violence and profanity of Gremlins made it one of the movies that prompted the creation of the PG-13 MPAA rating, and the same factors make Critters iffy for sensitive younger viewers. Voracious, man-eating space creatures take large bites out of people, exposing lots of flesh and blood. Alien bounty hunters blow things up, and there is some clothed making out and profanity, including "f--k," "s--t," and "goddamn." An alcoholic who claimed to be receiving signals from outer space is vindicated by the arrival of two large spaceships.
