After an eccentric zoologist (Claude Rains) discovers creatures from the dawn of time in the Amazon jungle, he gathers a team of explorers – including a journalist (David Hedison), a playboy (Michael Rennie), a socialite (Jill St. John), and a pilot (Fernando Lamas) – to return to the site. But an attack on their camp leaves the group stranded in a world ruled by dinosaurs and other deadly beasts.
