Dr. Thorkel (Albert Dekker) has developed a process that will shrink human beings to doll size. Mining engineers Bill Stockton (Thomas Coley) and Steve Baker (Victor Kilian) and biologists Mary Mitchell (Janice Logan) and Dr. Bullfinch (Charles Halton) are his first victims. Initially benevolent, Thorkel shows his true colors by murdering Bullfinch in cold blood. Our protagonists must escape through a now-unfamiliar world lest they suffer the same fate. Dr. Cyclops is an amazing Oscar-nominated, special effects-driven horror film from director Ernest Schoedsack (King Kong).

Albert Dekker delivers a chilling performance.

The story and characterisation is where this movie falls apart, even given the fact that you know from the start it's going to be schlocky.

The standard plot now looks hackneyed, and the cueball-headed Dekker is stereotypically crazy. However, the impressive array of oversize props make this a lot of fun to watch.

Beautifully crafted trash that should appeal to all lovers of sci-fi, horror and cult cinema.
