Disney’s all-animated technicolor version of the J. M. Barrie classic is loaded with laughs and is sure to be entertaining for adult movie ' goers as well as the small fry.

Even if one chooses to play ignorant to the problematic backbone that is present in nearly every scene of the film, the world is never explored in a particularly interesting sense and the drama often is underwhelming.

On the plus side, the animation is gorgeous, Never Land is imaginatively designed, and Tinkerbell and Hook remain amusing characters. On the flip side, Peter Pan isn't the most engaging of protagonists, and a little of the Lost Boys goes a long way.

Disney gets so much syrup into the first realistic scenes that the later fairy-tale stretches somehow don't seem quite right.
