Academy Award winner James Cagney stars as a movie usher-turned gangster-turned movie star in this comic send-up of both Hollywood gangster films and Hollywood itself--Lady Killer. Movie theater usher Dan Quigley (Cagney--Mister Roberts) quickly learns that it's better to join the mob than become a victim of the mob. But with the police hot on his heels, he heads to California, where he soon lands leading roles as a gangster. But with fame come his former cohorts from the underworld whom he thought he had long left behind.
