This combination of April Fool's Day and Urban Legend has an interesting conceit about the spread of gossip and scary stories, but the movie itself has too many characters and too little bloodshed. Lindy Booth is great, however, as is the final reveal

So, despite occasionally mustering some intrigue, Cry Wolf remains a howling disappointment.

It attempts to be taken as a slasher film but it's not a slasher whatsoever, it's a gigantic tease.
