There's a satisfying Midwest winter vibe in this thriller, and Jane is a likable-enough character, but she's given a movie that almost isn't a movie; the things that happen here don't seem connected.

Andrew Kevin Walker has written some excellent screenplays over the past 30-plus years. This is not one of them.

And once the whole climax unfolds, we are offered a tease for a sequel that no one will rightfully beg for. At the end of the day, the film’s quality shouldn’t be surprising.

Every aspect feels as hollow as the next. Georgina Campbell puts in real effort and James Preston Rogers is physically imposing, but this poorly assembled final product lacks any real through-line.
