It has elements of the Disney classic but none of the magic.

[Rankin/Bass] took one of the most iconic figures in children's literature and forced a Christmas theme onto him, creating a weird and clumsy feature known as Pinocchio's Christmas.

It's far from the most heartwarming thing the studio ever came up with.

It's confused and more than a little boring. And the Christmas connection is very nebulous.

A charming spin-off tale of boyhood misadventures, this animated tape is also noteworthy for a breezy sound track and such witty touches as putting Pinocchio's dad, Geppetto, in an ill-fitting Beatle wig.
