Mufasa: The Lion King | Full Movie | Movies Anywhere

With gorgeous animation and a story about destiny, family, and the circumstances that shape us into who we are, Mufasa is an empathetic tale that was made by creatives who love the original film as much as you do.

The visuals and the action scenes are duly impressive, but the songs tend to bog things down and the violence may be too intense for young kids.

Thankfully, the movie does prove its worth with an excellent selection of exciting and inventively shot chase scenes and fight sequences, all of which serve to build the Mufasa character into a truly admirable screen hero.

The more we got into the story, the more it felt like it was forced to connect the dots to what we know of the original The Lion King. Taka's reason for turning villain was a complete letdown. The songs were, unfortunately, forgetful.

This visually stunning but timid prequel is a triumph of computer programming, receiving a passing grade because of the emotional depth at its core.
