Ten-year-old Aurora has an intriguing neighbor (Mads Mikkelsen) who kills real-life monsters - a hit man for hire. When Aurora needs help killing the monster she believes ate her family, she procures his services. Suspecting that her parents may have fallen victim to hit men gunning for him, Aurora's neighbor guiltily takes the job. To protect Aurora, he'll need to contend with an onslaught of assassins, a mysterious associate with killer heels (Sigourney Weaver), and accept that some monsters are real in this fantastical and wickedly inventive feature directorial debut from visionary creator Bryan Fuller.

Dust Bunny presents an intriguing premise that attempts to be part children's fairy tale & part hitman drama, but sadly writer/director Bryan Fuller didn't really know how to develop the idea effectively.

Dust Bunny is about 50/50 overindulgent eye candy and quietly charismatic performances. The story could use a little more beef, but as it stands, it’s more winner than loser.

Think "Leon: The Professional" meets Roald Dahl, filled with equal parts fantastical, unbridled imagination and wild shoot-outs and action movie battles.

A visually striking dark fable with strong performances, though its intriguing themes never fully reach their emotional or narrative potential.

What lingers is not the question of what the monster is. It is the feeling that the film has constructed a world where danger is both external and internal. The thing under the bed is no more or less real than the lives these characters have built.
