I was having trouble keeping track of who was trying to kill who and why.

Even though the movie does its best to deliver, its best is not good enough, and the people who worked on the promotional poster should have been in charge.

The sharply choreographed, hyperkinetic action sequences stick it while the romantic angle lands on some wobbly knees.

“Love Hurts” is well made on a technical level while throwing punches that look good before missing the mark.

Ultimately, it’s a shame Ke Huy Quan’s first post-Oscar lead role in over three decades proves [to be] equal parts underwhelming and disappointing. [Love Hurts] is a misfire by any other name.
