A hopeless romantic (Domhnall Gleeson) thinks he's found true love with an older woman (Christina Applegate) only to learn that she's married and their encounter was merely an instrument of revenge against her neglectful husband (Thomas Haden Church). Initially out for blood, the husband finds himself strangely sympathetic to the romantic's plight and decides the best way for the two of them to get revenge is by moving in together, cutting her out and living the bachelor life.

The film normalizes what they do and hopes we laugh at it because they're "just being boys." Rather than tear down masculinity stereotypes, Crash Pad reinforces them.

The film's annoying casual misogyny and tiresome bickering derail any consistent comic momentum toward a predictable resolution.

Charming lead performance in quirky but mature comedy.

Unabashedly silly take on an Odd Couple premise delivers some very funny lines.

The movie works best as a goofy, snarky, and uncomfortable study of man-child frustrations and silly dreams, doing a generally good job at its most panicked.
