Courting Mom and Dad is a heartwarming family comedy about three kids who find themselves at their wit's end when they discover that their parents are divorcing. The resourceful kids come together to hatch a plot - a last-ditch effort to save their family. With the help of a rather eccentric personal injury attorney, the children creatively stall the proceedings just long enough to give their parents time to rediscover the spark that once ignited their love.

What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Courting Mom and Dad is a 2021 faith-based family movie in which the three kids of a separated married couple on the verge of divorce turn to a lawyer to stop it. There are brief scenes of beer drinking in a bar, and cocktail drinking in a restaurant -- no drunkenness in either scene. The boss of one of the lead characters asks if he's using drugs. The story seems to suggest that prayer and spiritual guidance can rescue marriages that are on the brink of ending, at least marriages that aren't dissolving due to abuse or adultery. Of course, a big worry here is for families who have or are going through divorce since this movie could provide hope that divorcing parents will stay married. Families can discuss whether a movie like this sets up false expectations for families going through the pain of divorce in the real world.
