... fans of the small screen show will enjoy the spoofing tone throughout. Leslie H. Martinson directs Lorenzo Semple’s screenplay like a big budget TV episode minus the cliffhanger endings.

As you’d expect, this movie is as dumb as a box of hair, but God, is it fun — a perfect guilty pleasure.

Clearly intended to appeal only to longtime fans of the series, which has done much to make the Dark Knight and his Boy Wonder sidekick cartoonish caricatures rather than earnest crime-fighters.

While it's hilarious to watch the cheesiness of the film, it's also interesting to see how far Batman has come from the sixties.

Live action Pop Art. An exhibition of colors and absurdities. Every line of dialogue is inane, and every story point is absurd. It shouldn't work. It's too kitsch for its own good, but it does work and it's as fun now as it was half a century ago.
