A toothless comedy, although the stars certainly do their best to lift the material.

...a thoroughly middle-of-the-road endeavor that's rarely, if ever, able to entirely justify its very existence.

You'll find yourself cringing at some of the attempts at gags, with some moments really only evoking a pity laughs as the film moves towards its predictable finale.

Trying too desperately to be funny has exerted the opposite desired effect; the finished product is dull as dishwater.

Save the original and let Overboard '18 sink to the depths where it belongs
