Academy Award winner William Hurt stars with Kathleen Turner in a taut story of lust, greed and murder set in a steamy South Florida town. When libidinous but not-very-smart attorney Ned Racine (Hurt) begins an affair with Matty Walker (Turner), the beautiful, young wife of an unscrupulous tycoon, their desire to be together leads to thoughts of murder. But after the meticulously planned crime is committed, Ned begins to wonder if Matty loves her late husband's money more than she loves him ... and if she is plotting another murder.

It is very difficult to see this as a love story when Walker and Racine are only sexually attracted to one another. Despite the fact that they frequently claim to love one another, we get a lot of evidence to the contrary.

Kasdan’s first feature showed a veteran’s level of assurance and confidence. From the writing to the direction to the character arcs to the crack ensemble performances, “Body Heat” is one of the finest examples of film noir ever made.

In his directorial debut, Kasdan crafted an erotic thriller that, in addition to building a low-key homage to film noir, lights up the screen like a cigarette butt with hot performances from William Hurt and Kathleen Turner. [Full review in Spanish]
