Elphaba and Glinda’s bond drives the movie and though their attempts to reconnect fully seem doomed, you never stop rooting for it.

With no substance and no style to be found, all that is left in Wicked: For Good is two actresses, doing more than just belting their hearts out by giving genuinely compelling performances.

It’s genuinely impressive that Wicked: For Good manages to justify its existence as a standalone film, considering that the back half of the stage musical is far from anyone’s favorite part.

Even though Wicked: For Good imparts an awful message about friendship, it isn’t enough to derail the film thanks to Grande and Erivo’s committed, brilliant performances.
