There is nothing special about The Specialist. This is an incoherent, slow-moving film with virtually no character development.

...the movie remains watchable enough from start to finish due mostly to a smattering of compelling set-pieces and Woods’ perpetually spellbinding performance...

Stallone just isn't the right actor for subtle adventure - and the script goes for bravado over wit.
