Although the new film strains to re-create the magic of its predecessor, Honey, I Blew Up the Kid falls woefully short.

The laughs run out early and the balance of the film relies on special effects to tickle the audience's funny bone.

With Kleiser's imaginative uses of the electric Vegas scenery and props like colossal baby sneakers, this reversal of the shrink ray outpowers the fun of the original.

Boots away a warm familial dynamic to chase tedious villain shenanigans, forgetting what made the first picture so successful.
