Expired | Full Movie | Movies Anywhere

Any credit writer-director Ivan Sen might be given for the movie’s distinctive ambience, has to be weighed against the fact that this is a style of filmmaking seemingly unconcerned with the need to engage an audience.

It looks great, layering a vaguely sci-fi sheen on present-day locations. But it's so undercooked that everything feels oddly vacant.

If Loveland never fits squarely into any one of the several genres in play here, it’s because Sen is far more interested in subverting their tropes for his own purposes.

Overall, there's just not much to take away. Like a butterfly, Expired captures your attention for a moment and then flutters away.
