Acclaimed British theatre director Trevor Nunn helms a rare film project, delivering a rousing and charming version of Shakespeare's mistaken-identity comedy, Twelfth Night. Now set in the 19th Century, the story follows the daring adventure of Viola as she disguises herself as a man to work as a Page in the court of Count Orsino, a man whom she desperately loves. Of course Orsino sees Viola as a man, as does his lady love Olivia who is quickly attracted to the new Page. Twelfth Night: Or What You Will boasts an impressive cast featuring Helena Bonham Carter, Imogen Stubbs, Nigel Hawthorne, Imelda Staunton and Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley.

Rotten Tomatoes® Score

Critics Consensus: Director Trevor Nunn makes some questionable choices, but his stellar cast -- which includes Helena Bonham-Carter, Ben Kingsley, and Nigel Hawthorne -- more than rises to the material.

A handsome, agreeably performed rendition that fails to ignite much laughter or any real emotion.
