[Road to Revenge] constantly feels as if it’s evoking something larger, some greater world or action set piece that could give meaning to it all, but that never quite materializes — and never really existed in the first place.

The ensuing action is outlandishly grizzly, but the plot and character motivation is so rote it’s hard to invest in his titular quest for vengeance.

Sisu: Road to Revenge doesn’t quite live up to the expectations set by its predecessor, but it’s still an entertaining and joyously macabre thrill ride.

These two movies aren’t for everyone. They are extremely violent, but no more so than the most R-rated action flicks. Here’s a good qualifier: Did you think "Saving Private Ryan" was too graphic? If so, don’t see "Revenge," it’s not for you.
