Abby Hale escapes a death sentence in 1763 England by agreeing to serve as an indentured servant in the American colonies. When treacherous trader Martin Garth cheats her out of her freedom and drags her to the frontier, Captain Chris Holden sets out to free her. But Garth has far larger ambitions-conspiring with Chief Guyasuta to ignite a Native American uprising against colonial settlements.
