Academy Award winner Halle Berry (Monster's Ball, Die Another Day) stars as a criminal psychologist who awakens to find herself a patient in the mental institution where she works. While Gothika may not have stood the test of time, or even present the most plausible horror narrative, it delivers an eerie watch that fans of the genre can enjoy.

There's nothing particularly original, gory or scary about Gothika - a really weak "R" rating - but it's more or less competent.
