Night School is the kind of comedy that just keeps getting in its own way.

Somewhere in here lies a sweet movie about overcoming learning disabilities, but the sixty screenwriters have buried it under endless cynical repartee.

In front of the camera the performances seem laboured and fully phoned in. Behind the camera there seems to be minimal direction or structure. And in front of the screen? You'll have given up too.

An enjoyable comedy that's held back by too many minutes and poor pacing in the middle.

Night School has a strong comedic cast lead by Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish, but even the two of them combined can't save the film from its weak script.
