HEAVYWEIGHTS is a comedy of enormous proportions! It's the hilarious story of a group of underdog kids who discover their beloved summer camp has been sold to a crazy fitness fanatic who's determined to make their lives miserable! The new owner plans to keep the boys huffing and puffing, but these hungry kids have a plan of their own. The third act is a hard drop from the hilarious and unhinged first two acts of the film. Ben Stiller is completely insane.

This is still hilarious and heartfelt. But it does falter when Ben Stiller isn't onscreen.

...a decent-enough endeavor that’d hardly be worth mentioning were it not for Stiller’s superb, scene-stealing efforts...

Time has been kind to the discarded fat camp movie, finding Heavyweights more digestible these days, after years spent processing the askew sense of humor shared by Apatow and Company.

A throwback to the early Disney live-action films that coasted on their premises and were content to provide lightweight entertainment and nothing more.
