...an oddball premise that's employed to mostly underwhelming effect...

But if a twisted stew of retaliation and romance tickle your taste buds, you'll find it's an amusing little treat.

The main problem with this movie is that it wavers between touchy-feely sweetness and dark-hearted nastiness. Its indecisiveness of tone ends up undermining and unraveling the production.

Stalking does not sound like a viable basis for a romantic comedy, but director Griffin Dunne and screenwriter Robert Gordon have somehow made it work.
