Hollywood actor Don Bolton fears basic training more than bad lighting. Desperate to dodge the draft, he hatches a ludicrous scheme to marry the colonel's daughter, Tony Fairbanks. But Don's great escape unravels fast when he manages to enlist himself by accident, dragging his bewildered assistant Bert and his hapless agent Steve into military mayhem.
